My Favorite Things: Windham Edition
Dispatch from the best upstate escape
I’m SO excited to finally share pictures of our new home in Windham, New York. I was incredibly honored to be featured in Elle Decor this week — one of my favorite outlets for all things home.

A little background on the house. We are an obsessive ski family. Teddy and I both love to ski and started our kids early. A few years ago, Teddy became involved with Windham Mountain Club as an investor, and I went up to visit. I absolutely fell in love. It’s a magical little town in the Catskills, only two hours from New York City. I know I’m biased, but it really is special.
There are a million things I love about Windham — the landscape, the restaurants, the incredible community — but the first reason we decided to set down roots there is the kids’ ski program. I truly believe it’s one of the best in the country.
Henry, our eight-year-old, is part of the Race Program, which offers focused instruction, small group coaching, and the chance to compete with other mountains. It’s structured but fun, and he’s learned so much. The twins, now four, were part of Windham Mountain Kids this winter and absolutely thrived. All three of them came home every day full of stories, totally exhausted, and more confident than ever. And during one of the coldest New York winters in a long time, they still spent their weekends outside and active from 8am to 3pm. As a parent, that’s pretty much the dream.
So yes—we’re a full ski family now! I was excited to take on the project of building a cozy little nest for our weekends away. I worked with Lauren Carlucci of Lauren Carlucci Studio, which was such a treat—Lauren and I have been friends since middle school in London. She’s always had the best taste (even in 8th grade), and her knowledge of art and textiles runs deep. Working together was so natural. We share a lot of the same references from growing up in the UK, and the whole creative process was truly joyful.

Rather than re-tell the whole story from the article, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite details from the house—things that bring me joy every time I walk by them. All links below, as always!
Favorite Things:
Custom ceramic plates with nods to our kids’ lives. I love a plate wall, and I was delighted when Lauren introduced Harlie’s work to me. Follow Harlie on Instagram here!
I love everything Cabana and this tablecloth is no exception. We styled it over a bedside table for the shoot - multipurpose!
We have these at our home in the Hamptons, too — it’s the perfect cordless lamp.
Four poster beds are always better!!
Nickey Kehoe’s NYC store is one of my absolute favorites — always stocked with little treasures. I love this bench, which Lauren recovered in a gorgeous Robert Kime fabric.
I’ve been a fan of Tess’s work for years and I’m delighted to have a little piece of our own!
For some reason I find drapery to be stressful — something about finding the Goldilocks perfect pairing of functionality and look — so I spent a serious amount of time researching this. Lauren and I were both very impressed with Everhem’s quality, as well as their customer service — I’m a fan for life now!
Favorite Hill House Things:
Hill House started out as a bedding company, so we truly are experts in bedding. It’s soft, breathable and made to last — hotel-level luxurious with fun details and plenty of monogram options! Our monogram turnaround time is also amazing now—it used to take a whole month, and we’ve sped it up so much.
The Bed Set - Pink Pond Floral - This print feels romantic but not too sweet—like vintage wallpaper from a cottage in the English countryside. The pink is soft and subtle, and it layers beautifully with white or solid-colored sheets.
The Bed Set - Blue Botanical - Fresh and classic. This one always reminds me of a crisp blue-and-white china plate. It’s calming and clean, perfect for guest rooms or anywhere you want a little quiet elegance.
The Bed Set - Savile - Tailored and timeless. Savile is inspired by menswear shirting—smart, simple, and endlessly mixable with the rest of our prints. I use it whenever I want a cleaner, more structured look. Great for mixing with printed duvets or pillows!
One of our most-loved prints, reimagined as wallpaper. It adds just the right amount of texture and movement to a room, especially in small spaces like powder rooms or entryways. It’s expensive, but for a reason — the quality is unreal. We used our paperweave wallpaper all throughout the Windham house.
The contrast piping gives it structure, and it looks good on literally any sofa or bed. It’s the easiest way to make a room feel finished. We have this in Willow’s room on her chair.
Favorite Decor and Tableware:
A statement piece on its own. I use it under simple white plates or even solo for serving. It adds that slightly over-the-top Cabana magic I love.
Maison Maison Design Zoey Mixed Taupe Round Placemats
These make any table feel pulled together with minimal effort.
Ginori 1735 Oriente Italiano Mug
This mug makes morning coffee feel special. The pattern is iconic, and it somehow works in every room.
I use this for water, juice or flowers. It’s just beautiful!
Cabana David Hicks Woven Placemat
I layer these under just about anything—especially when the rest of the table is more romantic or floral.
John Derian Naive Suits Heart Coaster
A tiny thing that brings me extreme joy. I have a few scattered around the house!
Astier de Villatte x John Derian Clover Mug
This one’s a little jewel. Delicate, hand-glazed, and slightly irregular in the best way.

What an absolute treat!!! Your taste is the best - no detail is too small!!
So pretty, Nell! Those plates are the perfect bit of English quirk, and the Tess Newall wallpaper is dreamy.
